Fans who congregated at Savemart Center were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Pittsburgh Pirates topped the Fresno Falcons, 4-3, in 14 innings at Savemart Center. The game was highlighted by the performance of Pittsburgh pitcher A.J. Greenberg. Now 87-69, Fresno has dropped 10 games in a row.

Jake McConnell, who is tied for 10th in the NL with a .388 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. McConnell contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put Pittsburgh up, 4-3.

"Losing puts me in a bad mood," said Fresno manager Pedro Alvarado. "And right now nobody wants to be around me."
