Tucker Lays Hammer Down in 4-1 Win
|
Rusty Tucker was superb against Vancouver. The left-hander, who is tied for 7th in the WEST in innings pitched with 205.1, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Mariners victory. The score was 4-1. Gaman Ramage closed it out for his 47th save. The Mariners, at 101-53, have a comfortable 14-game lead in their division.
Vancouver could barely put a dent in Tucker. The left-hander tossed 97 pitches over 8 innings for the Mariners, allowing only 3 hits.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Tucker.
