Braves Beat Marlins, 4-1
|
The Atlanta Braves reigned over the Miami Marlins in damp conditions.
Mal Smart never let the Marlins get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Braves to a win, 4-1. The victory gives the Braves a record of 93-61.
Billy Shimer chipped in for Atlanta with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Shimer.
