Portland pitcher V.J. Amador did his part in helping his team beat the Vancouver Cascades, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The Hops, at 66-87, sit in 5th place in the American League Pons Division.

C.J. Furgeson, who is on pace for 102 RBI this season, helped out the Portland cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.

After the game, Portland manager Nelson Espinoza applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
