The Vancouver Cascades powered past the Portland Hops, 9-2, at Royal Port Stadium. Stan Priester went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. Edward Best, credited with the win in relief, is now 6-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. With the win, Vancouver has a record of 80-72. Portland falls to 91-61.

Vancouver took advantage of an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Elijah Denton hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Cascades in front, 2-1.

Denton told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
