Blue Jays Reel Off Another Win
New York had no answer for Toronto Blue Jays hurler Kevin Alessandroni, who overwhelmed Mets hitters as the Blue Jays coasted to victory, 9-1. Alessandroni, the winner, moves to 8-5. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 4 walks. The wins continue to add up for Toronto. The latest makes it 11 in a row.

Axel Rosales had a big run-scoring double for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Toronto leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Jay and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 39th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Jays ahead, 2-0.

"When I throw strikes I'm good, if I don't I'm not very good," said Alessandroni. "So I just have to throw strikes."
