The Houston Astros defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-3. Third Baseman Ray Morton deserved a large share of the credit. Morton belted 3 home runs for the Astros. Sal Raney came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. Houston has won 5 consecutive games.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when designated hitter Pearce Key hit a triple. The Astros went on to win.
