The Cincinnati Reds downed the Houston Astros, 7-4, at Minute Maid Park. David Reyes led the way, going 2-for-2 for Cincinnati. Osvaldo Ortiz, the winner, improved to 10-6. He held the Astros to 3 runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Cincinnati is now 72-78.

Ezra Peters came through with a big-time hit for Cincinnati. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
