London Hot Streak Continues with 6-3 Win
|
Another day, another victory for the red-hot London Royals.
Miguel Benavidez, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in total bases with 337, led London to a triumph over Pittsburgh. The final score was 6-3. The designated hitter went 3 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 3 runs and added 1 RBI. The winning pitcher was Timm Stephenson. He's now 12-7. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits for the Royals.
In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, Benavidez came to the plate. He reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run off Silas LeNormand to put the Royals in the lead, 4-3.
"Everybody is chipping in right now," said Benavidez. "That's what makes it so much fun."
London now sits at 78-72, while Pittsburgh falls to 80-70.
