Red Sox Pick Up 4-2 Road Win Over California
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Boston Red Sox got the win.
The Boston Red Sox got a good effort from starter Dom Williams in defeating the California Angels at Disney Stadium. The final score was 4-2. The winner was Williams. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Ponce Fernandez. Lincoln Monsalvo closed the door for Boston, picking up his 10th save of the year.
Carl Errington, who leads the AL in runs scored with 113, had a direct impact on the outcome. Errington contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Boston up, 4-2.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Boston manager Daniel Knepper.
The Red Sox go to 69-80, putting them 5th in the American League Pons Division.
