The Virginia Black Bears topped the Indianapolis Ignition, 7-5, in American League action at PepsiCo Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Virginia pitcher Calvin Kuhns. Indianapolis has now lost 5 straight.

Virginia used a well-timed hit by Ximenes Armenta to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Black Bears ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Armenta told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
