Pasqualini in Command, No-Hits Hops
|
In a brilliant performance at Royal Port Stadium, Vancouver pitcher Jake Pasqualini entered an elite group by tossing a no-hitter today against the Portland Hops.
In the effort, he fanned 9 and walked 1, leading the Cascades to a 2-0 victory.
"I was getting my off-speed stuff over so they couldn't sit on the fastball," Pasqualini said in the clubhouse after the game. "My guys made some nice plays behind me and cut off several hits, too."
This season, Pasqualini has fashioned a 11-8 mark and 3.62 ERA in 176.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .239 against him and he has logged 185 strikeouts.
