Mariners Squelch Rockies Offense in Shutout Win
|
Pitcher Errol Medrano was sensational for the Seattle Mariners in his team's 3-0 triumph over the Colorado Rockies. Medrano picked up the win, and it was well-earned. In 6.1 innings, Medrano surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Gaman Ramage got the save, his 43rd in 47 chances.
The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the sixth. But Errol Medrano made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Colorado trailing 3-0, Medrano threw a changeup to Keiran Coleman and Coleman struck out.
Seattle is now 95-51, 11 games up in the Western Region Northwest Division.
