Disney Stadium hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

In a tight game between the Portland Hops and the California Angels, pitcher Latrelle Hamilton was terrific on the mound. The Portland left-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. The winner in relief was V.J. Amador. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-3. Randall Coles was credited with the save, his 29th in 36 tries.

Roger Green helped out the Portland cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1 for 1.

"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Hamilton. "And vice-versa."

The 5th-place Hops own a record of 47-99.
