Though he had a terrific game, Chip Quinn could not prevent his team, the Fresno Falcons, from absorbing a loss. Arizona won the game, 6-5. Quinn was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Chris Harris in relief. His record improves to 7-4. Kimberly Powell took the loss. The Diamondbacks lead the Western Region Pacific Division by 3 games.

Arizona needed the clutch hitting of Matthew Purnell to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 6-5. For the game, Purnell had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Purnell told a Arizona Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
