Stripers Handed 7-4 Loss by Columbus

The Columbus Clippers topped the Gwinnett Stripers, 7-4, in International League action at Huntington Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Columbus pitcher Rory Shape. Rich Baxter earned save number 19 this season. The Clippers now have a record of 52-59.
In the bottom of the fifth, Columbus designated hitter Johnny Cowan had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Cowan stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 2-0, Columbus. For the game, he was 1 for 4.
"Solid performance from our side," said Clippers manager Gregory Edgar.
