Bats Saddle Clippers with 4-2 Loss
|
The first-place Louisville Bats took on the Columbus Clippers in front of a spirited crowd.
The Louisville Bats beat the Columbus Clippers, 4-2. Louisville pitcher and Belle Fourche, South Dakota, native Ray Davis led the way. Chris Buchanan closed the game out for Louisville, earning his 20th save.
Vito Rivera had a big solo home run for the Bats in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Louisville leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Marvin Raudenbush and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Bats on top, 2-0.
"This is truly a great team to play with," Rivera said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
The Bats now own a record of 73-38.
