Stripers Fall to Bulls Late
|
Ray Cook knocked in 4 runs to help Durham beat Gwinnett, 8-5. Cook produced 1 single, 2 doubles, and 1 home run. Durham reliever José Hernández picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. George Sheridan was tagged with the loss. The Stripers, now 58-52, have lost 4 in a row.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Cook hit a fastball from Ed Lobb for a 3-run home run. The Bulls, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Cook. "And not try to do too much."
