Late Rally Earns Newark 4-2 Win
|
Newark Bears starter Frank McCoy pitched his team past the Maine Grizzlies, 4-2. Ben McPherson was called on to finish, recording his 24th save. Newark is now 54-57, Maine 53-58.
Newark took the lead, 4-2, on Gregory Sherman's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Maine pitcher Grit Rosquist in the bottom of the eighth.
Newark manager Kyle Hughes commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
