The Newark Bears knocked off the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 8-3, in International League action at Coca-Cola Park. Newark pitcher and Meadow Woods, Florida, native Otto Tripp had an outstanding performance. Tripp yielded 3 runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-1. Picking up the save was former first round draft pick Wyatt Knape.
