Scranton Topples Columbus, 8-4
|
In the 8-4 Scranton win over Columbus, the impact of Wyndham Giles was substantial. Giles was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Geraldo Calle got the win, improving to 5-4. He worked 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The Dundies saw their record improve to 59-49.
Hudson Nenno drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate, while scoring 2 times for Scranton. The 27-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jimmy Leonard. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Giles told the Scranton Today.
