Angels Suffer 3-0 Loss to Mets
|
Chad Beckner, who is tied for 7th in the AL in wins with 4, was terrific for the New York Mets in his team's 3-0 triumph over the California Angels. His performance earned Beckner rave reviews. Beckner picked up the win for New York, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. Otto Tripp finished the game for New York and earned his 2nd save.
The Mets got a lift from 25-year old center fielder Denholm Wills, who had a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third inning off Jacob Musso. It was his 13th double of the season and put New York in front, 1-0.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Wills.
At 20-21, the Mets claim 5th place in the American League Sandoval Division.
