Langston Shines, But Royals Fall Short
Despite a great performance by London left fielder Thornton Langston, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Royals by the score of 8-7 at Kauffman Stadium. Langston was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Jack Tritt was credited with the save for Toronto, his 25th of the season. London is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 9 games.

Juan Alfonso helped out the Toronto cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
