Mariners Fall Short at Vancouver, 5-4
|
The Vancouver Cascades defeated the Seattle Mariners, 5-4. Doing his part was second baseman Andy Kiser, who went 4-7 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The win elevated the Cascades to 81-59.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 17th inning, when Vancouver third baseman Beau Koss, facing Dagny Goldbaum, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Cascades the 5-4 win.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Pablo Vega, the Vancouver skipper.
