Narrow Win Takes Chicago Streak to 8
|
No one was more impactful than Ethan Wolfe in an extra-inning, 6-5 Chicago win over Arizona. Wolfe, who is tied for 6th in the NL with a .392 on-base percentage, was 5 for 6 with a home run, a triple, and 3 singles, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2. Chicago has run its win streak to 8 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Chicago pinch hitter Donovan DeBlock, facing Reilly Foley, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cubs the 6-5 win.
"Winning never gets old," said Cubs manager Juan Mejia.
