Stripers Beat Grizzlies, 4-1
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Maine Grizzlies and Gwinnett Stripers get after it.
The Gwinnett Stripers knocked off the Maine Grizzlies, 4-1, at Coolray Field. Dominic Center was a big reason Gwinnett won. The third baseman hit 2 home runs. Grey Cox, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-5. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Jake Brackin sewed up the save, his 3rd.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Center hit a solo home run off Michael Samuels. It propelled the Stripers into the lead, 2-1.
"It was a pretty good night," said Center.
The Stripers improved their record to 52-53 with the win over Maine.
