Toledo Drops Another One, 5-2
|
Another game, another loss for the struggling Toledo Mud Hens.
The Charlotte Knights beat the Toledo Mud Hens, 5-2, at Fifth Third Field. Charlotte second baseman Lanny Nunn, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2057 draft, collected 2 singles and 1 double with 2 RBI. Charlotte reliever Zachary Sim picked up the win, while Oscar Cleveland took the loss for Toledo. Rubens Jazayeri earned the save, his 5th in 6 tries.
It could have been a different outcome for Charlotte, had it not been for Rafael Pabon, the 29-year old second baseman . Pabon contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Charlotte up, 4-2.
"Use your eyes, make an adjustment, and be better," said losing manager Tony Cerda. "We need some accountability all the way around. Everybody, top to bottom."
Now 31-72, Toledo has lost 12 in a row.
