Chiefs Win Nail-Biter, 7-6
The Syracuse Chiefs and Pawtucket Red Sox put on quite a show.

Despite the exploits of center fielder Salerio Baker, the Pawtucket Red Sox were beaten by the Syracuse Chiefs, 7-6, in 10 innings. Baker was 3-5 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Kendry Felix snagged the win in relief. He goes to 5-3 on the season. Manabo Takeya suffered the loss. Picking up the save was Demott Washer, his 2nd.

Syracuse needed the clutch hitting of Derek Holmes to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chiefs on top, 7-6. For the game, Holmes had 2 home runs and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Pawtucket manager Daniel Holcombe.

The International League Northeast Division-leading Chiefs are 71-32.
