Ottawa Upended by Birmingham, 5-1

The Birmingham Barons picked up a win at Ottawa Ballpark, knocking off the Ottawa Oddballs, 5-1. Starting pitcher Tanner Berg played a key role in the triumph. Mijail Kuester closed the game out for Birmingham, earning his 1st save. Birmingham, at 55-45, sits in third place in the International League Southwest Division.
Birmingham used the hitting of Hank DeWitt to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Barons on top, 1-0. For the game, DeWitt had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling DeWitt.
