Oddballs Top Dundies, 4-2
|
The Ottawa Oddballs picked up a win at PNC Field, taking down the Scranton Dundies, 4-2. Starting pitcher Israel Cantwell was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Cantwell, now 10-5. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. Roger Danton picked up the save, his 24th.
Sam Fitzgerald, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Fitzgerald contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Ottawa up, 3-2.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Cantwell said.
The second-place Oddballs go to 61-33.
