Win Lifts Knights to 48-46
|
Charlotte second baseman Richard Gittens had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Columbus Clippers, 4-1. Charlotte reliever Roberto Leggett picked up the win, upping his record to 2-4. Jimmy Leonard was saddled with the loss. The Knights saw their win-loss record go to 48-46. At the same time, the Clippers fell to 48-46.
Gittens had a key at-bat for Charlotte early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 17th double of the season and gave Charlotte an early 3-0 lead.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Gittens.
