The Rochester Norsemen defeated the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 6-1, in International League action at Frontier Field. Rochester pitcher Lyle Prather had a standout performance. Prather got the win, improving to 4-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Norsemen are now 58-36, while the Barons fall to 40-54.
The Norsemen got a big at-bat from right fielder Alejandro Madrid. For the game, Madrid went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Rochester a 4-0 lead.
