Bisons Take Bears to the Woodshed, Win 20-2
The exploits of right fielder Santon Rentschler, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2053 draft, helped the Buffalo Bisons defeat the Newark Bears, 20-2. Rentschler went 3 for 6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Garth Thomas earned the win for Buffalo. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 9-3. Buffalo, at 59-37, occupies first place in the International League Northeast Division.

With Buffalo leading 5-0 in the top of the third, Rentschler came up to bat against Newark pitcher Wade Redmond. Rentschler hit a curveball to right for a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Bisons on top, 8-0.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Rentschler.
