The Wilkes-Barre Barons knocked off the Maine Grizzlies, 5-2, in International League action at Chukchansi Park. Wilkes-Barre pitcher and Niagara Falls, New York, native Connor Halbig had an outstanding performance. Wilkes-Barre is now 37-56. Maine is 43-50.

Wilkes-Barre used the clutch hitting of Oliver Guerera to snag the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Barons ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

Said losing manager Ramon Guerrero: "I think Susan Sarandon said it, 'Hit it where they ain't.' We didn't do a very good job of that tonight."
