Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Chiefs
|
The Syracuse Chiefs did just enough to secure a victory over the Birmingham Barons, 4-3, in 10 innings at Raley Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Lloyd Silva. Syracuse is now 57-37.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Mitchell David? The 23-year old first baseman David stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Syracuse up, 4-3. For the game, he was 4 for 5, including 2 doubles and 2 singles.
"Felt great, felt really good," said Silva.
