The Norfolk Tides took on the Columbus Clippers at Huntington Park.

The performance of Michael Freimark proved critical in helping Norfolk beat Columbus, 8-5. The Tides left fielder was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2. Ben Leingang, who is tied for 10th in the IL in saves with 10, nailed down the save.

Norfolk used a well-timed hit by Derek Torres to capture the win. The third baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Tides ahead, 6-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I know we have our doubters," said Columbus manager Joaquin Hoogerwerf. "But I still have high hopes for this team."

Norfolk is now 35-58, Columbus 45-48.
