McCoy Top-Notch as Chiefs Stop Bats, 2-0
|
In a tension-filled contest between the Syracuse Chiefs and the Louisville Bats, pitcher Frank McCoy was superb. The Syracuse right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the IL in wins with 8, spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. Syracuse is in second place in the International League Northeast Division with a record of 52-40.
McCoy picked up the win. He's now 8-8, after putting the Louisville offense in the deep freeze. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 2 hits.
"I'm happy we won," said McCoy. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
