Norfolk Beaten, 6-2, by Scranton in 11
|
The Scranton Dundies beat the Norfolk Tides, 6-2 -- though it took them 11 innings. Scranton second baseman Dale Capuano had a pretty good game. He went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jeremiah Masias, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The triumph puts Scranton at 49-42 for the season.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Capuano delivered big-time for Scranton, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Stan Wilson. The game-changing hit put the Dundies on top, 3-2.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Scranton skipper Johnny Hales.
