Scranton Tags Newark with 9-1 Defeat
|
Newark had no answer for Scranton Dundies starter Cato Ambros, who flummoxed Bears hitters as the Dundies cruised to victory, 9-1. Ambros went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-8. With this game in the books, Scranton is 51-40, Newark 29-62.
Chaz Schwartz, the 32-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Schwartz contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Scranton up, 2-0.
Dundies manager Dustin Bartholomew had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
