Knights Grind Out 2-0 Win
|
In a tight game between the Scranton Dundies and the Charlotte Knights, nobody was more important for the winners than Henley Gillett. Gillett was masterful in the 2-0 win. Patrick Napier, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 1-0. Andrés Carillo closed out the game, earning his 15th save.
The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With the bases loaded and Scranton trailing 2-0, Andrés Carillo needed to get a big out. On a 1-1 sinker, Johnny Bender, who is tied for 3rd in the IL in total bases with 170, grounded out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
The loss makes Scranton 46-44.
