Red Sox Take Tight Tilt, 3-2
|
Hurler Chase Stewart gave the Pawtucket Red Sox a solid start. The native of Windsor, Connecticut helped his team defeat the Scranton Dundies, 3-2, at McCoy Stadium. Stewart picked up the win for Pawtucket, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 7-6. Atsushi Okano earned the save for Pawtucket, his 12th of the year.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from left fielder Lucas Monroe. For the game, Monroe was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Pawtucket a 2-1 lead.
"This was a tough loss," said Scranton manager Johnny Hales. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
With the win, Pawtucket pushed its record to 44-41.
