Bisons Zap Barons, 6-3
|
Birmingham got a terrific game from designated hitter Clay Brousseau. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Buffalo, 6-3. Brousseau went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Beckett Willis. He went 5 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits. The left--hander struck out 2 and walked 2. The Bisons now have a record of 48-33 with the win over Birmingham.
The Bisons got a big at-bat from first baseman Graehme Britton. For the game, Britton went 1-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Britton said.
