Red Sox Jolt Dundies, 3-1, with Late Rally
|
Pawtucket overcame a superior effort from Geraldo Calle to beat Scranton, 3-1. The Scranton pitcher threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Steven Minckler saved it for Pawtucket. With the win over Scranton, the Red Sox improved to 37-42.
Pawtucket used a clutch hit from Jeffry Patlan to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort," Patlan said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
