Barons Beat Gwinnett, 5-4
Birmingham parlayed a decent outing from starter Braylon Hanson into a solid win over the Gwinnett Stripers. The final score was 5-4. Birmingham reliever Cal Justis got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Damian Nix was tagged with the loss. The first-place Barons sport a record of 48-30.

The decisive blow was delivered by Reese Neal in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Lonnie Andersen to win the game for Birmingham. The home crowd went nuts.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Neal said.
