Chiefs Stick Red Sox with 2-0 Loss
|
McCoy Stadium featured a tense pitchers' duel.
Syracuse right-hander Nick Hartman pitched his team to victory over the Pawtucket Red Sox at McCoy Stadium. The final score was 2-0. Randy Castriotta earned the save for Syracuse, his 1st of the year.
Syracuse won the game in part because of Derek Torres. The shortstop ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 2-0. For the game, Torres had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We did just enough to win," Torres said.
After today's action, Syracuse sits at 36-36, while Pawtucket falls to 31-41.
