Grizzlies Lose Contest, 9-3
|
The Columbus Clippers defeated the Maine Grizzlies, 9-3, at Huntington Park. Aaron Whaley, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2059 draft, was a standout performer for Columbus. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Columbus has a record of 37-33, placing them third in the International League Southwest Division.
Early in the game, Whaley had a 2-run double for Columbus. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Clippers on top, 2-0.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Whaley.
