In Extras, Clippers Beat Wizards
|
The Columbus Clippers did just enough to nip the Orlando Wizards, 5-4, in 11 innings. Columbus pitcher J.J. Anderson, in particular, had a standout performance. The win went to Doug Boley in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Eli Castell took the loss. With the win, Columbus pushed its record to 36-34.
The Clippers got a clutch hit from left fielder Peyton Allard. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Clippers.
"It was a test of wills," said Gregory Edgar, the Columbus skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
