Burnum Skinner relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold Buffalo hitless in a 4-0 win at Victory Field today.

"Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the Bisons off balance and guessing the whole game."

The 27-year-old starter rung up 9 strikeouts and 5 walks in whipping the Bisons.

"When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," Buffalo skipper Adam Luthe said.

To date this season, Skinner has a record of 1 win and 9 losses and a 5.87 ERA. He has appeared in 14 games and struck out 83 in 76.2 innings.
