Getting a good performance from catcher Hugh Loats, the Scranton Dundies defeated the Syracuse Chiefs, 13-8. Loats went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Dundies. The Dundies raised their record to 32-35.

In the top of the sixth, the Dundies grabbed the lead when Loats hit his 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double off Randy Castriotta made it 5-4, Scranton.

In postgame remarks, Dundies manager Johnny Hales lauded Loats. "He's a good, young player. The future's bright for Hugh."
