Silva, Chiefs Put Clamps on Barons
|
The Wilkes-Barre Barons and Syracuse Chiefs riveted fans at Victory Field.
The Syracuse Chiefs got a magnificent performance from pitcher Lloyd Silva, who muffled the Wilkes-Barre offense en route to a tight, 1-0 Chiefs win at Victory Field. The save went to Justice Johnson, his 4th this season.
Silva allowed no runs on 2 hits over 6.2 innings for the Chiefs. He walked no one. With the win, he is 4-3 with an ERA of 4.70.
"Lloyd was throwing free and easy," said Syracuse manager Abe Blowers.
Syracuse has now won 7 straight.
