Stripers Rally For Late Win Over Norsemen
|
The Gwinnett Stripers stopped the Rochester Norsemen, 9-6, at Frontier Field. The Stripers got a big game from Caleb England, who was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jaiden Fenner picked up the win in relief. Judah Stanley took the loss for Rochester. The win for the Stripers raised their record to 39-27.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Stanley Soto came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Rochester pitcher Judah Stanley, he hit a first pitch slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Gwinnett on top, 7-6.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said England. "Just do my job."
